Take a Pew

Since it's Sunday, I figured that that was a good day for a sermon.  This one is a classic, it's Alan Bennett from the original production of the legendary Beyond the Fringe -- and it's remarkable that the video of this show exists.

All the four members of the cast went on to extremely successful careers.  For himself, Bennett became a playwright, perhaps best known for his play, The History Boys, which both both the Olivier Award in London and Tony Award on Broadway for Best Play, and for which he adapted the screenplay.  (And for which star Richard Griffiths won both the Oliver and Tony Awards as Best Actor.)  And also his play, The Madness of King George III, which he adapted for the film and got an Oscar nomination.

(When released in the United States, the title was changed to simply, The Madness of King George.  There was actually a hilarious reason for that.  It was felt that if it went by its actual title, The Madness of King George III, American audiences would see the "III" and think the movie was a sequel!)

No sequel this -- here's the original.
