Sullivan's Travels

This is an enjoyable piece from CBS Sunday Morning that’s a look back at the long history of The Ed Sullivan Show.  It’s not as in-depth as one would like, but given that the “Really Big Show” was on for 23 years – the longest-running primetime variety show in history -- and the segment was nine minutes, it still gives a nice sense of what it was all about.  With a look at Elvis making his appearance to the Beatles (including talking to a woman who was there in the live audience almost 60 years earlier) and Rudolph Nureyev, Itzhak Perlman performing as a young boy, Topo Gigio, the Muppets and a whole lot more.
