For those of you who have withdrawal symptoms about not seeing Jon Stewart on TV anymore, this won't resolve that, but it might be a nice temporary balm.
Here is Stewart taking the stage at a Stand Up for Heroes benefit in New York on Monday, and telling a story with such bravado about getting into a Twitter War with Donald Trump-- years before the real estate man even ran for president. Yet pretty much everything in the tale, including the punch line that Stewart clearly relishes, seems to prescient and timely. And it doesn't even need the punch line.
The tale in some ways is even funnier than Stewart's telling, given that he leaves out any mention of what his erstwhile correspondent John Oliver reported on his HBO show, about the Trump family name actually being "Drumpf." This will become clear in the story.
The video quality isn't great, this is taken from a mobile phone. But that's okay... He's just one fine craftsman of a storyteller.
Note. The language is not PG.
