Running on Fumes

So, yesterday in the U.N., the United States aligned itself with the world's dictatorships and voted against condemning Russia for their war against Ukraine. The U.S. cast its vote alongside Russia, North Korea, Iran and against our European allies.

It's worth adding that the U.N. measure of condemnation against a war started by Vladimir Putin who the International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for over alleged war crimes passed overwhelmingly.  It just did so without the vote of the United States.

And in other news of the day, the FBI hired Dan Bongino, a ranting extreme-right podcaster with absolutely zero experience to be its deputy director, a job whose main duty is running the day-to-day operations of the Agency.  He will be the first deputy director who wasn’t an active FBI agent, with knowledge of how the FBI actually operates, in 117 years.

Bongino, who has said all he cares about is "owning the libs," will report to newly confirmed FBI director Kash Patel who also has absolutely no experience in the FBI.  So, the good news is that if Bongino screws up running the day-to-day operations, Patel won't have the slightest idea.

Some stories don't really require much analysis to make their meaning clear.  in fact, for all the important detail about what this all means, sometimes just focusing on the headline lets the point stand out impactfully.  You really only have to repeat them -- and repeat them -- in order to ensure they remain in the public consciousness.

All of which also helps fit into our new policy here are not piling story on top of stop and obscuring the view of MAGOP hell.

This is why, as well, it's important to keep noting that it's the MAGOP elected officials who are responsible for all this.  While the actions may come from Trump, it's his party members in Congress who enact everything he puts before them, who enable him, and who have embraced all his policies their own, making themselves complicit in it all.
