Roasted Turkey

The White House Correspondents Dinner is this Saturday.  And for the first time since he's taken office (including his first term), Trump will finally attend.  But there's a very big "however" attached.  And it's that --

However, since Trump famously is so painfully thin-skinned and unable to take jokes at his own expense, for the first time in 42 years there will be no comedian hosting the event to roast the president and others.  Instead, there will be a mentalist.

Yes, you read that right.  A mentalist, Oz Pearlman.  He's very successful, and I'm sure will be very entertaining.  But how unfortunate of the White House Correspondents organization to kowtow to the guy who calls them "the enemy of the people," putting many reporters at risk -- just so that he'll attend.  My hope, though, is that it backfires on Trump, and when mentalist Pearlman looks into Trump's brain, he says that he finds nothing there.

But because there is this lapse of a comedian hosting to roast the president this year, Jimmy Kimmel decided to fill in the gap.  And did a White House Correspondence roast so that the public wouldn't be missing anything.

It's wonderful.

His full opening monologue last night was very good.  But if you want to just see his Correspondence roast, jump to the 5:45 mark.
