Rigging the Good Ship U.S.S. U.S.

"You mean, on top of everything else, this ship is rigged?"

-- from "Columbus Discovers America" on Stan Freberg Presents the United States of America

This isn't important, but it's one of those little naggy things that keeps pounding my head every time I hear Trump or some Republican official or Trump or a Republican on the street -- or Trump -- whine about how the election was stolen, rigged and a fraud.

If Democrats where clever enough to rig the election in Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada and Georgia -- and keep the conspiracy a secret without any documents or any evidence to give them away -- why weren't they able to also rig a few Senate races and take back control of the Senate??

Taking the control of the Senate is clearly a really huge deal, witness both parties going crazy in Georgia over the run-off.  To go to the trouble of actually rigging the presidential election, which is a massive undertaking, and let control of the Senate slip through the tracks shows a level of stupidity and incompetence that belies the skill needed to rig a presidential election.

At the very least, even if they weren't going to rig enough Senate races to take control of the Senate, you'd think that if Democrats were going to be able to rig the presidential election, then the very next thing on their Wish List would be rigging the Senate election to defeat Mitch McConnell so that he could no longer be Majority Leader.  For that matter, while your at it and looking at Wish Lists when rigging elections, why wouldn't Democrats also have rigged the elections to defeat Lindsey Graham and Susan Collin?

In fact, if they rigged only those three Senate elections, Democrats would have control of the Senate, and not even have to worry about the Georgia run-off.  And further, it would bring the added bonus of not having Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham and Susan Collins in the Senate anymore.

To go to the trouble of rigging a presidential election -- and do it so cleverly that you didn't leave any evidence that could be used in court -- and not rig the Senate elections to defeat McConnell, Graham and Collins, which would additionally give you control of the Senate -- presumes a level of mindless stupidity on such a grand level that the contradiction dances on the edge of not humanly possible in realty or even in the worst James Bond novel so terrible that it wasn't published.

Yes, yes, I know this is meaningless.  And I know the question and its lack of a sane answer wouldn't convince Trump or a Republican politician or Trump or a Republican on the street or Trump -- crazed conspiracy don't need sane answers, or even answers -- but I'd still love to hear their twisted, convoluted response explaining it, if only to see the levels that a human face can contort.
