"So this woman's a monster. She is Lady Macbeth. She is a frightening woman."

-- Glenn Back, on First Lady Michelle Obama

On his radio program this past Thursday, the former TV host, now relegated to voice-only, slammed the wife of the president.  And what was it that caused Mr. Beck such angst, such horror?  It was that Michelle Obama -- after walking away from a microphone while being heckled and saying that either she would speak at the mike without being heckled, or the heckler could have the microphone -- was implored by people to stay...and returned to the microphone, to continue giving the speech she was there to give.

The horror!  The fear!  I don't think Dr. Frankenstein could have created a creature more monstrous.  (What this has to do with Lady Macbeth, though, I'm not quite sure.  Shakespearean literary experts at the House of Beck will have to work that one out.)

""She just went right back into the speech," he cried.  (Okay, I assume he cried.  I didn't hear the tape, but with Glenn Beck, you have a 70-30 chance that fake tears were involved.)

Imagine that.  The First Lady of the United States, invited to give a speech, stepped away from the microphone, complained about being heckled, and...just went right back into the speech.

A monster, indeed.  A frightening women, indeed.  A Lady Macb...well, okay, again, maybe not Lady Macbeth.  But still.  You have to admit, that is pretty ghastly.

No doubt Mr. Beck has offered his adoring public the same outrage and fear when Gov. Christie (R-NJ) has lashed out angrily at someone at a press conference, telling the person to shut up or that they're an idiot.  But in fairness, what Mrs. Obama did was far worse -- she actually offered the heckler the microphone!  O the malevolence!

To be fair, I do understand Glenn Beck.  I don't agree with him, obviously.  I mean, what he's saying is totally idiotic.  But I understand him.  He hates Michelle Obama and doesn't want her in front of a microphone.

I completely understand.  It's precisely how I feel about Glenn Beck.
