Probing Inside the News

Add another state to join the Republican March on Women, as Governor Todd Walker (R-WI) signed a bill last week that forces women in Wisconsin to join their sisterhood in Virginia and Texas in undergoing an obligatory ultrasound examination.

Mind you, for the Party of Personal Responsibility, it seems awfully irresponsible not to trust the womenfolk with their very own personal bodies, but that's the way things go sometimes.

And for the Party of Small Government, it also seems incredibly invasive for government to require that the womenfolk must have such an invasive procedure.  But what's invasion to one person is another's Manifest Destinty.  With an emphasis on the "Man."

But most especially, when you put all the various hypocrisies together, it creates such a whopper that you sometimes wonder how a good Republican can breathe without exploding.

After all, one of the biggest complaints that conservatives have about the Affordable Healthcare Act -- perhaps the biggest of all -- is how "Obamacare" forces Americans to actually buy health insurance.  Forces them.  The government actually requires Americans by law to buy health insurance.  Obamacare forces you -- you!! -- good, freedom-loving American that you are -- to do something you might not want to do.  Even though almost all Americans do it, regardless.  Fascism.  Communism.  Socialism.  Whateverism you can think of.  Stop Obamacare for that reason above all.  Big Government involving itself in your life where it doesn't belong.

Okay, I know you can probably see where this is going.

But when it comes to government forcing womenfolk to have a probe stuck up their vagina against their wishes -- that's okay.  That's proper.  That's needed.  Because, after all, men know what's best for the little women better than even Louisa May Alcott did.

Calling it hypocrisy is unfair and insulting to hypocrites.
