Porter, Paul and Merry

We're going to go with a little frivolity today -- but it's political frivolity, and with some meaningful insight buried underneath.
On election night, as all candidates do, there was a rally for Katie Porter. To introduce her to the stage, the campaign had her middle child, 14-year-old Paul Hoffman do the honors. And his 3-minute speech was absolutely wonderful -- a mix of very funny charm and even touching substance. My only quibble with it is that the video cuts off just as his mother walks on stage. It would have been nice to see her reaction to it all. I'm sure it would have been endearing though, interlaced with pride, since the video was posted on YouTube by "Katie Porter." (You can see her icon in the upper-left corner.)
