Perhaps My Best Observation Ever
Every once in a while, an observation occurs to me that, I think, actually makes trenchant sense and which has otherwise escaped notice of the media, at least until a while afterwards when others begin to put together the dots, as well. (I have some friends who, if the New York Times hasn't reported it yet, then it didn't happen. When I bring up later, "Hey, remember when I said that three weeks ago?" generally they don't...) And after news reported from yesterday, what I realized is something that squarely falls into that hole and which, to my mind (okay, take that for what you will...) clarifies a great deal.
Bear with me for just a moment, and take a step back to look at a critical, but much-overlooked event from during the presidential campaign.
