If you’re a fan of Mary Martin’s original version of Peter Pan, this will be a treat since the Mystery Guest here is ‘Captain Hook,” Cyril Ritchard. As I watched, I wasn’t quite sure if the musical had aired on TV yet, because this broadcast is from December 22, 1957, but they do address it after the contest, and in fact it not only had been on, but repeated. Nice, too, with this segment is that one of the panelists is Robert Preston, who was currently appearing on Broadway in the The Music Man – remarkably, it opened only three days earlier! (What’s My Line? was broadcast live on Sundays, so it was his day off.) If you want to jump to the segment with Cyril Ritchard, it starts at the 15:30 mark.
