Media Alert-ish

BBC America has been promoting a special, Barack Obama Meets David Attenborough, which I thought would be the legendary naturalist interviewing the President about the environment.  I was only moderately interesting, but tuned in, though a few minutes late, just to check it out for a bit.

It turns out that that isn't what the show is at all.  It's actually, instead, President Obama interviewing Attenborough, talking about his long career, what inspired him, memories that stand out, and the two discuss environmental concerns and solutions, mixed with a wide range of clips from the 89-year-old Attenborough's TV specials over the past 60 years -- plus footage of upcoming material.

It's quite enjoyable and well done.  I'm sure that BBC America will be repeating the show a lot, so check listings in your area.
