Love's Labour's Dance

A few weeks back, I posted some videos from an odd, interesting, not extremely successful but admirable film adaptation of Shakespeare's Love's Labour's Lost, directed by Kenneth Branagh.

What made the film adventurous was that he did it as a musical, with existing song from generally the 1930s interpolated in -- and all performed by actors and actresses who were decidedly not singers or dancers.  The results are mixed, but fun.

The two numbers I showed were largely singing.  So, I thought it might be fun to see a bit o' the dance.  Most of the actors here aren't especially well-known.  Adrian Lester might be recognizable to some who watch the British import series Hustle, as a the leader of a bunch of con artists.  But you most definitely will recognize that world renown non-dancer Kenneth Branagh, who actually acquits himself nicely, as do they all.

And so here they are singing -- and dancing the light fantastic, "I'd Rather Charleston."
