Lifeski

Over time, I've posted various versions of the song "Life Is" from the musical, Zorba, a show I like a great deal, written by Kander and Ebb.  It's based, as is likely clear, on Zorba the Greek.

This is yet another version of that opening song, "Life Is,' done by the Polish company.

I know they've been having a bit of problems in Greece lately, so it's perhaps fitting to post this now.  Particularly with the song being from the Greek perspective on life.  Not speaking Polish, I don't know which of the two versions of the song they're using.  In the original production, the words were bleaker --

Life is what you do,

While you're waiting to die.

Life is how the time goes by.

The subsequent revival that starred Anthony Quinn recreating his iconic movie role had re-written words that were a bit more upbeat --

Life is what you do,

'Til the moment you die.

Anyway, lift a Polish sausage and...opah!!!
