On this week’s Naked Lunch podcast, co-hosts Phil Rosenthal and David Wild celebrate the 10th Anniversary of HiHo Cheeseburger with restaurant powerhouse Jerry Greenberg.  As the show writes, they all “discuss how this successful tech genius -- as the co-founder and co-CEO of Sapient -- has gone on to become an important and passionate powerhouse in the restaurant world today, working successfully with various partners, creating a series of remarkable and enduringly delicious success stories starting with Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa. Plus, some fun talk about the opening of Phil's diner, ‘Max & Helen's in Larchmont!”

I should add that I’ve been to HiHo Cheeseburger several times with a friend.  And it’s a charming, very good place – though oddly, I haven’t yet had their burger, and instead we get something that’s not even precisely (or perhaps “foundationally”) from their menu.  One of my favorite places in Los Angeles was when a legendary New Orleans place, Willie Mae’s, opened a great Cajun chicken place in town (at first in a ghost kitchen” walking distance from me, and then closing it to open a full restaurant nearby), but it was in a terrible location and closed after only a few years.  Though they say they hope to reopen in another location.  But it turns out that they gave the recipe for their chicken and chicken sandwich to HiHo Cheeseburger, and we go for that.
