So, as I mentioned earlier, IFA is a very convoluted trade show, with among the most confusing grounds I've ever been on. Some of you skeptical folks might have thought that that was hyperbole. Here's a tale from today.
There was a Samsung press conference in Hall 7.3. (That means the third floor of Hall 7.) The thing is Hall 7 actually has three buildings. Why in the world would you think it merely has just one? There's Hhll 7a.3, Hall 7b.3 and Hall 7c.3. So, when you're told to go to Hall 7.3, you're on your own and every man for himself. Anyway, another reporter and I were wandering over -- with an emphasis on the "wandering" -- when happily I saw a couple of guys with Samsung badges in one of the Hall 7s. Relieved, I went up to them and asked where the Samsung press conference was. With a look of bewilderment on their faces they said, "We have no idea." A little later, I ran into one of the Tech Gurus of our group, the oft-mentioned here Ed Bott. He'd been lost, too, but eventually had found out where to go.
