Just Watch It
Last year, I posted a number of videos of Broadway legend Patricia Morison, who created the role of 'Kate' in the 1948 Cole Porter musical Kiss Me, Kate, culminating with this video here of a long interview she gave (complete with a little singing) two years ago at the age of 98. She's still around at 100.
Mark Evanier just pointed a glorious video of a Broadway fundraising event in 2014 where Patricia Morison, at the age of 99, returned to the Broadway stage and sang a number from Kiss Me, Kate. And sang it rousingly and absolutely wonderfully. And it will not shock you to learn she brought down the house. As Mark says, stick around after the very-long applause for the comments by the emcee.
But click here for goodness sake, read a bit about what Mark has to say about the event, and give yourself a few moments of joy.
And consider this an early birthday present. Tomorrow, Saturday, Patricia Morison turns 101...
