It's All That

Previously, I've posted another number from the 1996 revival of Chicago that starred Bebe Newirth and Ann Reinking, but this one stands out for its difference. The others I embedded (a couple times, I think) came from events where they performed "Nowadays" alone in front of the curtain, done as a medley with the dance number "Hot Honey Rag."

This here is Newirth and Reinking performing the song "All That Jazz" from that revival when they appeared on on David Letterman's show in January, 1997.  What sets it apart from the other clips is that it's not the two of them alone, but with the full cast, performed as on stage in the show with the full choreography.  So, you get a far-better idea of what the staging of that production was like.  The song is really a solo, and Newirth's alone, although Reinking -- who passed away in November -- is part of the full number as it intercuts with the plot.  And the whole thing is terrific.
