I'd Do Anything
For all the attention on Trump foolishly talking about needing an ID to buy groceries, I just saw the video of his speech and what has gotten completely overlooked is that this was his very next line --
"You go out and want to buy anything, you need an ID and you need your picture!!"
Forget just groceries, we all grasp easily that that's stupid enough since we've all actually been to a grocery store and know intimately how these complicated enterprises work..., but -- but, an ID to buy "ANYTHING"??!! Seriously, now, "ANYTHING"????!!
Yes, yes, I'm sure the latest defense of what Trump says will be, "Oh, he was just exaggerating." Or, "He meant what you buy with a credit card." But the thing is, whether an exaggeration or not, and regardless that the latter explanation is wrong, too, he was saying it to make a point. And so, it's a wrong and stupid point. And even if you accept it as "just an exaggeration" and so perfectly acceptable for some mystical reason, the problem is that there's always his specifics about buying groceries. This is just idiotic.
