How to Give a Speech 101

This is quite a remarkable speech by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine given yesterday on the country's Victory over Nazism Day.  It's no doubt intended not only to honor the day of celebration, but also a counterpart to the Victory Day parades in Russia.

The speech is masterfully written and impactfully delivered.  And as the tweet below notes, is bold.  Especially walking alone, almost defiantly on the empty, fortified street of what I assume is Kyiv, the capital city.  It's five impressive minutes.

What I find interesting is that in Russia, the celebration is referred to as Victory Day, while in Ukraine it's known (as I mentioned above) as Victory Day over Nazism.  Each time that President Zelenskyy repeats this name and notes throughout all the individual victories over Nazis in WWII, I have to believe that that was very intentional not only to show what the country is honoring, but to throw it back in the face of Russia's sick, dangerous and empty lies about Nazis supposedly running Ukraine, which was their false justification to invade the country.

And this is the man who Trump tried to blackmail with a "favor" to lie about Joe Biden, withholding aide authorized by Congress for Ukraine's defense.  An action that's all the more notable now given the massive support President Biden has provided Ukraine.
