Continuing our trek through the North Pole of little known songs about Christmas from musicals, here's one that doesn't fall into the "unknown" category, but given that it's so recent and from a TV movie, it's certainly fallen through the cracks. Actually, the whole score has, and it was pretty good, so we'll have a few of the songs here.
It's the original TV musical, Mrs. Santa Claus, that was done in 1996 for CBS, starring Angela Lansbury reteaming with her songwriting collaborator for Mame, Jerry Herman (who also, of course, wrote Hello, Dolly!) The movie starred Charles Durning as a pretty good Santa, though the role is small.
Here are the two of them singing the enjoyable finale, "The Best Christmas of All."
