His Own Worst Enema
The hellhole that Trump has sunk the country into will sadly, horrifically go on for a while. But as I firmly believe (and I think with evidence to support it) at this point, every hellish thing he does will be hurt him and MAGOPs, as well, if not more. And we’re seeing that. It’s why Trump, after only nine months in office, now has plummeted down to a truly dismal 37% approval.
Furthermore, the reason (among many reasons) why it is likely to go no higher is that he’s not surrounded by anyone who can help him, just unqualified incompetents. But perhaps even more to the point, when you’re popular, say with a 60% approval, people cut you some slack for your mistakes or bad judgement, because the like you and think a mistake is just that. On the other hand, when you only have a 37% approval, and you make mistakes or have bad judgement, it confirms to people why they don’t like you and supports why you only have a 37% approval.
And Trump will continue to make disastrous mistakes because the unqualified incompetents are among the reasons these problems are caused. And he will continue to have terrible judgement is because expert psychologists say he has dementia, which is degenerative.
Just consider the horrific mistakes and monumentally bad judgement we’ve seen from Trump over just the last week. In fact, just this week.
It was bad enough in the middle of a government shutdown with growing inflation and rising prices that Trump gave a $20 billion bailout to Argentina – who then went to sell 650,000 metric tons of soybeans to China, pummeling U.S. farmers. But just seven days ago, on October 15, Trump said he was going to…double down! And make that bailout for Argentina $40 million! And then this past Monday, Trump announced he was going to let Argentina import 20,000 metric tons of beef to the U.S. under lower tariff rates to bring down beef prices (that he helped raise), outraging beef farmers who feel they've been sold out. More on this in a moment, because yes, it gets worse.
And then, just last Friday, Trump then announced he was commuting the sentence of George Santos, a felon who not only had pled guilty to fraud and "aggravated identity theft" and sentenced to over seven years in prison -- but was only the sixth person in United States history expelled from the House of Representatives, and by a heavily bipartisan vote, 311-114, in a House controlled by MAGOPs. The only reasonable explanation for Trump's haywire action is that he saw a fellow grifter in Santos and gave him professional courtesy.
Then this past Sunday, after seven million Americans had a remarkable and remarkably peaceful No Kings rally, the largest national protest rally in the history of the country, what did Trump do? For reasons only known to him and his dementia, he released an AI video of him wearing a crown, flying a jet over the peacefully protesting Americans and dumped a massive stream of excrement on them all. It was sickening had it been done by anyone, but from the head of the country?? It was repugnant. As much as one wanted to ask, “Who do you think this will appeal to and raise your popularity?”, you knew that it was only to humor the bottom of his base who will never leave him and appease his demented mind.

Then, just two days later, on Tuesday, may have topped even that. Which might seem near-impossible. But when you are a malignant narcissist (a medical term for a narcissist who will destroy everything around him when he doesn’t get his way) combined with dementia, there is no low. Which begs the question --
Okay, who had “Demolishing the White House” on their Bingo card for arguably being the thing that may damage Trump the most?!!
The outrage this provoked, people seeing one of the few historic icons this country has being destroyed was gut-wrenching. What I don’t know is what took people this long to realize he was going to demolish the White House. He’s long said he was going to do it to build his grandiose, gaudy ballroom. Though obviously seeing it was far more visceral than people expected. And certainly, I absolutely, 100% agree with the furious outrage seeing the White House being torn apart.
Though I think his fascism and growing dementia are worse….
Still, there is something almost poetic seeing Trump do physically to the White House what he has been doing to it politically.

And gallingly bad as the visual was of the East Wing of White House being razed, Trump in his delusional world had to add a cherry on top. Talking to the press as the sound of bulldozers permeated the air outside the window behind him, he just had to say with a huge smile, "I love that sound. It's the sound of money."
It's also the sound, of course, of lying. Because when Trump first announced his plans for his grand ballroom, he promised it would only be an addition, and that the East Wing of the White House would be left alone. “It won’t interfere with the current building," he said in July. "It’ll be near it but not touching it. And pays total respect to the existing building, which I’m the biggest fan of.”
Trump acolytes always have said to not listen to what he says (and man, what a ghastly statement that has always been about the person in charge, about the most powerful man in the world), listen to what he means. Well, what Trump says and means are lies and delusional. What he says and means keep getting worse as he keeps getting worse.
And as truly impossible as it would seem to top (or more accurately, sink from that, Trump did the impossible. Because right after that from that, Trump did the impossible. Because right after that --
It was reported that Trump wanted to sue his own Justice Department for the $230 million! Because they were unfair to him for taking him to court for taking top secret documents home and refusing to give them back after leaving office!
But even that keeps getting so much worse. Because Trump can’t help himself and make things even worse for himself. Because he’s his own worst enemy. After all, he could have done something this insane, so insane that most everyone can grasp why it’s pure dictatorial – but no, Trump intentionally chose to do this now, in the middle of a government shutdown, with growing inflation, prices going up, negative job growth, and with tens of millions of Americans at risk of losing their healthcare. Yes, Trump wants to actually sue the Justice Department he controls for a quarter of a billion dollars for having been indicted for doing something worse than what his DOJ just indicted John Bolton, his own former National Security Advisor, for. And...and...to make it even worse (and yes, it can be worse), the money would have to be paid by the American taxpayer. In the midst of a government shutdown, rising inflation, and negative job growth. I can’t even begin to imagine the vast majority of Americans not understanding the grifting depravity of that.
And yet Trump made it even worse. Because not only would the decision whether or not to pay Trump $230 million most likely be made by his Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche – who was Trump’s own defense lawyer when he was indicted! – but Trump said on camera that he himself is who will decide if the DOJ will pay him a quarter of a billion dollars. For basically stealing top secret documents and being indicted for it.
He is the real Boy Named Sue.
And again, all of this – all – is within the past week. And most of it is just the past three days! One big self-inflicted dump after another. And it's all going to keep getting worse.
Because Trump has dementia, because he is his own worst enemy, because he can’t stop himself, and because the MAGOP in Congress enable him without criticism. All of it during a government shutdown with growing inflation, rising prices, negative job growth, and sending military into cities, along with millions on the verge of losing their healthcare. As fascism washes over the MAGOP. And he puts on his crown to take a dump on Americans. And demolish the White House. Figurately, and literally.

Again, no, that is not a neighborhood fixer-upper.
That is the People's House. Done without Congressional approval. As required by law. And MAGOPs in Congress are silent about it all.
And just as a bonus, we have to include that, just yesterday, Trump's nominee to lead the White House Office of Special Counsel, Paul Ingrassia, was all set to go before the Senate for confirmation -- despite not only having posted a spate of virulent racist texts (like how Martin Luther King Day "should be ended and tossed into the seventh circle of hell where it belongs,”) but also openly wrote that "I do have a Nazi streak in me from time to time, I will admit it"!!! And Trump knew this. And still nominated him. Because Trump has dementia, which is degenerative, can’t help himself and is his own worst enemy. “A bit of a Nazi streak”!!!! (Perhaps Trump thought the "from time to time" meant it was sort of okay to have a Nazi streak only occasionally.) How blatantly ghastly was the nomination? It was too far for even the MAGOP Senate, who made clear to Trump that they would never approve Ingrassia – and so yesterday withdrew his nomination.
And then today -- you remember earlier I mentioned that Trump said he would let Argentina import 20,000 metric tons of beef at a lower tariff rate? But that the story gets worse? Well, this morning, that number was quadrupled! Raised to 80,000 metric tons. It will be 20,000 metric tons every quarter.
And all this will keep getting worse. Because Trump's dementia, which is degenerative, will keep getting worse. And because he's not surrounded by anyone able, willing or competent enough to stop him.
And all this keeps getting reported as individual events. But it's not individual, it's who Trump is, especially now, as the dementia that expert psychologists have long said he has keeps getting worse...because dementia is degenerative. These are not random, separate actions. These are each part of a whole.
And all this has just happened within days. This isn't a look at Trump's nine months in office. This is Trump's past week! Giving $40 billion to Argentina who then sold soybeans to China. Increasing beef imports from Argentina. A video of himself wearing a crown dumping sh*t all over Americans. Demolishing the White House. Nominating a self-proclaimed Nazi. Commuting a felon expelled from Congress. And…and…suing his own Justice Department to pay himself a quarter of a billion dollars -- that he will decide on. He almost makes other fascist dictators jealous.
Almost. Except for that pesky 37% approval. And dropping.
