In two parts, here is the Kennedy Center Honor tribute to Katharine Hepburn in 1990. What was rare about this, even at the time, is that Hepburn famously avoided awards ceremonies. And the Kennedy Center didn't honor anyone if they wouldn't be there to accept. And she did show up.
The entertainment portion for Kennedy Center tributes to actors are pretty much never as interesting for actors as they are for singers or musicians (at least if there's not way to work music into the festivities, which somethings there is). So the entertainment here isn't overly special, though fun. But compared to most, the film clips are enthralling.
Robert J. Elisberg is a political commentator, screenwriter, novelist, tech writer and also some other things that I just tend to keep forgetting.
