So, just this morning, Trump says the execution will not be live-streamed!
Bingo. Trump Always Chickens Out.
He did say it would still be a firing squad, which is barbaric. But “at least” that’s only internal – rather than an international disaster for generations.
I am so glad that I posted my article the day before. I'm more glad that the decision was made.
It's still repugnant that they'll be having a firing squad.
This all reminds me of perhaps my favorite joke from Monty Python's Flying Circus. It's a rare, very long running sketch, in which Michael Palin plays a cheerfully oblivious character on a bicycle trip, getting into misadventures he's totally unaware are problematic. This is the segment (that comes mid-sketch) where he's been arrested and put before a firing squad.
Though the video runs nine minutes, the sketch concludes at 4:45. It's all very funny, but the joke I love comes a few seconds before the end.
