Happy Father's Day: 2

Here's another in our series of little-known songs for Father's Day.  And it fits just fine, coming as it does from a little-known off-Broadway musical, Smiling, the Boy Fell Dead, a sort of satire of Horatio Alger stories.  (Though it got revived four years ago by the York Theatre Company in New York.)  It was an early work from lyricist Sheldon Harnick, though before he later teamed-up with Jerry Bock for Fiddler on the Roof, She Loves Me, The Apple Tree and more.  This had music by David Baker.

Here's son and his mother singing an offbeat tribute in memoriam to "Dear Old Dad."
