Mark Evanier posted this over on his website, but with hat off in appreciation, how could I not post it here? It's the song, "Little Tin Box" from my beloved Fiorello! performed at the BBC Proms in London at the Royal Albert Hall. It's from 2010 and features musical theatre performer Nigel Richards, whose work I don't know, but his credits include recently starring in Phantom of the Opera in the West End.
I think it's notable that, without any context, the song gets such a terrific reaction from the British audience. Notable, too, since the problem Fiorello! faced for so long in revivals and community theater is that it was supposedly such a New York show on a New York subject. Granted this is just one song, but still...
Besides all that, it's a lovely, funny performance.
