Getting Your Jones On
I don’t take the deep-right conspiratorial provocateur Alex Jones to be a reliable voice on pretty much anything, including “Hey, how’s it going?!” and “What time is it?” But Alex Jones’s base is pure MAGOP, and when he says something to his audience, it’s not to offend them and drive them away. It’s because he wants them to believe every word he says.
So, it’s not without meaning when yesterday on his show, Jones spoke at length about Trump’s health. And said –
"I've seen a lot of signs of Trump declining. And so he's on a lot of the time, but like a light bulb is starting to go out. It gets brighter. It gets dim. It goes in and out.”
Further, Jones discussed the health issue concerning Trump’s swollen ankles as being an important medical issue.
"That's not a good sign for the heart and the rest of the body, because the rest of him, he's lost weight, he's not that fat," Jones said. "For everybody that you've known that's having heart problems, that's not good right there. Okay? And they're getting bigger and bigger. I would say -- I don't say, I know -- we have a crisis."
But it gets worse. And very blunt "Trump is unconscious, basically, for periods of the day now."
And no, I’m not joking about this. This is not The Onion.
And still, Alex Jones went on about Trump and his poor health.
"But you can watch the decline into the evening, and then also these morning interviews," he continued. "So it's late at night, he sounds like he's drunk. He doesn't drink, obviously. He's exhausted. And then it is early in the morning, he doesn't sound too hot. "And this is just one of many things I've been hearing and seeing him do that send up red flags."
The thing is – no, I do not take Alex Jones’s word on all this. And do not present it as evidence of anything. As readers here know, I’ve been writing about Trump having dementia since his first term in office. So, I don’t need Alex Jones to make the point for me. Nor, I suspect, do most anyone here.
But he's right, of course. Not because he’s prescient and wise – in fact, he’s very late to the subject. But he’s phenomenally early for a deep-right, die-hard conspiratorial MAGOP. I have no idea why he’s saying all this – speaking the truth about Trump’s failing health – but he is. And he’s saying it to his deep-over-the-edge-far-right audience, who he wants to believe him. That’s the noteworthy thing here.
He isn’t going to far as saying that Trump has dementia, which is degenerative. But then, he is saying that Trump is “like a light bulb is starting to go out: and that “he sounds like he's drunk.” And…and…and "Trump is unconscious, basically, for periods of the day now." So, y’know, for not mentioning dementia, that is really bad.
Now, if only all media would be willing to say this as bluntly, as well. Because it's worse than just “declining”, it's dementia.
And when you're MAGOP and have lost Alex Jones – man, you’re heading into the abyss.
