Getting the JB Done

A couple of years ago, I posted a great Commencement Address that JB Pritzker gave at Northwestern University in June, 2023, which I wrote about and embedded here.  And he also gave a great speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention.

I've long been a big admirer of him as governor.  And coming from Chicago, the Pritzker family has been a major part of everyday life in the city for a great many decades.  It's hard to participate in the cultural or educational life of Chicago and not come into at least some contact with the Pritzkers' involvement.

(I even went to summer camp at Camp Nebagamon with one of the Pritzker cousins a very long time ago.  We only knew each other for one season -- or really, just briefly for a few weeks since I was the "doctor's son" at that point.  But still, when you're from Chicago, you don't escape the Pritzkers.)

But all that pales to his superb speech yesterday in Chicago, eloquently and thoughtfully and bluntly laying out Trump's "un-American" (as Pritzker put it) plan to send the military to the city, and for the country overall.  And making clear who Trump is on many levels, including his cognitive decline.

It deserves giving the full platform here, even if you've seen parts of it.  And most especially if you haven't seen any.  It's 14 minutes -- and worth every one.
