Getting Down

Erin Hamlin is in a rare position for an American women's luger, currently in third place as she blasts downhill.  (How rare?  No American woman has ever won a medal in luge.)  Her teammate, 21-year-old Kate Hansen, however, also well-regarded (in 10th place) has been getting even more attention for her warm-up ritual.

Athletes all have their own ways of preparing for their event, getting loose and focused.  Coverage of the luge yesterday, though, caught Hansen's unique style.  Dancing.

It's caught the interest of the public, and has now got Hansen tweeting about it.  In fact, that's the one problem with this video below.  The person who uploaded it stuck some generic rock music to fill in the background.  Wrong!  Hansen has made clear that it's Beyonce.  Always, only.

Personally, I think this is more entertaining if you turn your sound off.  That's how it first appeared on television, as the cameras caught the Californian in her own world, getting prepared.
