Five days ago, I wrote here that "It is my hope that if writers on Saturday Night Live didn't see the opening of The Rachel Maddow Show last night, they seriously consider getting a recording. They could use the verbatim transcript of Trump's deposition -- talking about the threat faced by a tomato and other fruit being thrown -- as a comedy sketch with no changes, just as they did with Sarah Palin in 2007."

I have no idea what SNL will do -- I suspect that their opening sketch will now likely be something related to the Supreme Court and Roe v. Wade, although they could do a Trump fruit sketch at any point in the show.  But...Trevor Noah and The Daily Show already did exactly what I was asking for, and yes, it was verbatim.

By the way, how terrible was Trump's deposition?  It turned out that his lawyers tried to get some of his answers removed from a court filing, because they said it would be "prejudicial" to his case.
