From "The Worst Client in the World" Files

The other day, I wrote an article here about Trump, “The Worst Client in the World.”  It was a posting he wrote on Trump Social where he made a repeated. textbook case of witness tampering – which impressively throwing that witness for him under the bus.

I have a feeling that we should make this a running feature of this site, because Trump again wrote something on this social media site that likely has his attorneys looking desperately for the nearest exit.

Basically, Trump not only gave away what he wants to be his defense – never a good strategy – but worse, pretty much admits to his guilt.  Which is a worse strategy.

First of all, before we get to how horrifically bad this is from a defense client, can someone in Trump World – out of pure decency – please, puh-lease finally tell Trump after all this time and his relentless repetition of it that the word is spelled “stolen.”  Yes, there is a word “stollen,” but it’s a German cake served around Christmas, sort of like coffee cake with nuts and dried fruit.  It’s quite delicious.  It is also totally different from “stolen.”  Yes, yes, it’s only a matter of spelling, but when you repeatedly misspell a word that is at the core of your defense for why you were indicted four times, and is at the core of your case to be president, it’s just a really awful look.  And makes you look incredibly stupid, especially when you keep trying to tell people who brilliant you are.

Second, still before we get to how horrifically bad this is from a defense client, I always love how manic, desperate and panicked Trump makes himself look whenever he refers in fury to “the failed District Attorney of Fulton County” and “Deranged Jack Smith.”  I mean, honestly, if you were a defendant, I think that having the prosecutor against you be someone who is “failed” or “deranged” would probably be your fondest wish.  But to Trump, he wants us to believe this is the worst terror imaginable.

At this point, I almost don’t even care about getting to why his post was as awful as it was for a defendant.  It’s idiotic enough without.  But since that’s the point here, I’ll keep it brief.  In part, too, because it’s so obvious, which helps explain why it’s so truly awful.  There’s no subtlety required to figure out his meaning.  After all --

Trump tells you point blank “I will be doing” this as my defense.  Please take notes so you can prepare your response.

And then he explains, as that defense, “I did it.”  I actively was involved in the January 6 protests to overturn the results of the election.

But – but – but, Trump wants you to know that all that’s okay because he had his reasons.  Because “having a reason” always means it’s okay to commit a crime.  At least in Trump World.  In reality, alas, if a bank overcharged you, you don’t get to break in, rob the place, and say “But you see, my reason is they owed me money.”  If you believe someone slandered you, you don’t get to get a metal piece to his head and say, “But you, I had a good reason, he lied about me.”  In sane world, you have to go to court and sue them to redress your wrong.

Ah, but doing that is yet another “massive and conclusive” problem from Trump.  He did go to court – 62 times.  And lost 61 times.  His only win coming in getting 2,100 ballots thrown out – many of which were surely for him -- in a state he lost by 54,000.

So, y’know, using “We won!  Really.  We really, really won!” after you lost 61 times trying to prove that is an extremely bad starting point when you’re using it as the reason for which you just publicly admitted committing the crime you’ve been repeatedly indicted for.

That pounding sound you hear is Trump’s lawyers bashing their collective heads into the wall.

As for Trump insisting that the case in Georgia should be dropped because the January 6 Select Committee supposedly destroyed all proof, the “massive and conclusive” problem with that is – no, sorry.  Honestly, I haven’t been vaccinated against insanity, so going down into that rabbit hole is a total non-starter.

Though it’s amusing to think that after two years of crying that the election was rigged and stolen (oops, I mean “stollen”), Trump is insisting that all the findings, all the evidence and all the proof of this theft was exclusively in the sole hands of the January 6 Select Committee, and Trump and his lawyers never had copies.  And no other copies exist.  And miraculously, it's all gone.

Well...in a quandary such as this, maybe some comfort food would help.  Here's a page filled with recipes for a delicious pastry.  But which to chose?  I guess people will have to vote and decide.  It will be our Stollen Election.
