From the Sticks and Stones Department

This might be the funniest news story of the moment.  At the very least, the stupidest.  But it's definitely among my favorite.

As House Republicans get their fevered-dream committee about the "weaponization" of the government, their first order of business has been how those meanies at Twitter were really mean to conservatives.

Putting aside that we spent four years of Trump's time in office weaponizing government at a level that has perhaps never been reached by government, with his Attorney General William Barr acting more like a Mafia consigliere, it's turned out that instead of finding any horrible thing (let alone, illegal) that President Biden has done to involve himself with pushing social media to act in one way or another -- they've found that Trump did try to get Twitter to act against those he didn't like.

And Evidence A was that he was so unhappy when model and businesswoman Chrissie Teigen posted a tweet calling him a "p*ssy ass bitch," Trump demanded -- while president -- that Twitter delete it.  Because he didn't like it.

(And yes, before anyone cries out, "But what about Hunter Biden!!!" -- which one can assume will be cried out whatever the topic -- there was indeed a communication by the Biden campaign team when he was not in public office, but running as a candidate with no authority, that Twitter remove a nude photo of Biden's son Hunter, used without his permission...because it violated Twitter's own non-consensual nudity policy.)

Now, there are a couple of things here that make Trump's reaction and efforts so amusing.

The first is the idea of Trump being upset because someone called him a bad name.  Calling someone a bad name is his brand.  It's one of the ways he got elected, cutting down his GOP opponents by calling them bad names.  He continued calling people bad names while in the White House, and used crude language in public.  Indeed, most famously, it was thought he almost scuttled his campaign in 2016 when the Access Hollywood tape was released with him bragging about grabbing women by the "p*ssy."  So, for him, of all people, to get the vapors of being called a "p*ssy ass bitch" -- or anything -- makes you wonder if he was just punking the country.

And the second is that, at the time, Trump was president of the United States. Commander-in-chief of the U.S. Armed Forces. His finger on the nuclear button. The most powerful man in the world.  And I would suggest that if he -- in that position -- couldn't handle being called a "p*ssy ass bitch" (especially by a total stranger to him) then a) he probably was in the wrong job and shouldn't be running for it again, and b) the description might be apt.
