From the Management

This is a mea culpa of sorts. A comment on Comments, as it were.

In dealing with this website, I spend far more time (understandably, I think...) using the Editor and Dashboard to write, edit, and manage the site than I do browsing the public website itself. I do always check out the website to see that articles get posted, and periodically will browse and search the site to follow-up on past articles for one reason or another.

As such, when the site moved from its old platform on Weebly over to this new platform on Wix, I just assumed that when I saw the word "Comments" on the main blog page, that that's where user comments were written and posted.

Oh, how wrong I was. "Comments" there only show how many were left. Which is why, as I write this, there are zero comments on the entire site since the transfer was made several months ago! Explaining would have helped a lot, I suspect... But I didn't know!

I know now how the "Comments" feature works. O huzzah!

Here's how. It turns out that the main blog page here on Wix -- just like on Weebly -- shows a running stream of the articles. However, unlike Weebly, in order to leave a comment, one has to click on the article title which opens the article on its own page. Then, at the bottom of that page, this is where you'll find the box to leave Comments. It looks like this:

That's it. It's very easy. I just had no idea. I've now added a note explaining this on the right-side column of the main blog page for readers who miss this article or come to the site weeks or months from now. By the way, I also discovered something else new when figuring out how Comments work. As it happens, it's on this separate page for each individual article where the "Tags" are displayed directly underneath the article. "Tags" are new to this site now, and they're how I can identify the specific, individual topic of the article. (A Category is "Politics". A Tag is "Mid-Term Election.") And so, if a reader wants to see more articles on that topic, you can click on the Tag link, and all articles that I've tagged for that specific topic will be displayed. (Categories are displayed here, as well.) This is what It looks like:

(By the way, you've likely already seen that Categories are also displayed across the top of the main blog page, directly underneath the site's big photo.)

And now you know. And me, also... Hey, I'm still learning to new platform. Onward!
