Food, Inglorious Food
There was a news story on Tuesday that caught my eye. It was very minor, but what stood out is how it described Trump and his acolytes in a nutshell.
After being arraigned for a felony, Trump went to a cafe, got cheered, called out "Food for everyone!," got cheered again, left, didn't pay and no one got food.
I think that pretty much covers all the bases with Trump:
Involvement in an illegal activity.
Getting adoring adulation from his disciples.
Making a promise that’s intended to bring him love.
Not following through on the promise.
Not paying the money he says he would.
Leaving everyone empty and hungry.
Ducking out before his adoring fans realize he shafted them.
Just about the only thing that’s missing here is him throwing rolls of paper towels at the people.
The only shame here is that the story didn’t include the reaction of his worshipful fans there after realizing that Trump had left without actually paying for the food he promised. What’s most likely is that –fitting in with the theme of how this event describes them and Trump in microcosm – they were all not only absolutely fine with him breaking his promise and not paying, but came up with an excuse why he didn’t do anything wrong. That you have to listen to what Trump means and not what he says, and what he ”meant” was not that he would actually pay for them, but how much he loved them all, and that it’s Joe Biden’s fault he didn’t pay, because Biden would have had the DOJ arrest Trump if he paid for supposedly trying to bribe them, and so what Trump was really doing was “owning the Libs!!”
And so they went along happy that they got the screw over Liberals by paying for themselves, just like their cult leader Trump wanted.
And Trump got to laugh at them and think of them as suckers.
