I just saw a story that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, are donating $33 million to give college scholarships to 1,000 Dreamers.
Which brings up a story. And how timely that it's about CES -- though quite a while ago.
About 15 years ago, I was wandering the halls of CES when I got lightly bumped and knocked down by someone riding a then-new Segway Scooter, which had just been introduced a month or so before. It was Jeff Bezos, clearly struggling with maneuvering the new device. We both laughed -- though I know that I could have instead screamed "WHIPLASH!!" And retired in luxury, right at that moment.
But good for him and his wife here. And I'm glad I didn't yell in agony. It means more money for the dreamers. So, I like to think I did my part.
