Doatsy More
Yesterday, I posted a video of one of my favorite, little-known songs from the musical, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, "Doatsy Mae," which wasn't included in the film version. I came across another video of the number which I thought was interesting and worth posting here, as well.
This isn't from any specific production, but an 2007 Actor's Fund charity event. The staged scene stars Andrea McArdle as Doatsy Mae. Her name might be familiar to many, but if not she was the original little girl who starred in the first production of Annie, 30 years earlier at the time, in 1977..
So, here she is all grown-up, singing the lovely song. And she does a terrific job with it. The video includes a little bit of the lead-in dialogue that I was referring to yesterday.
