Okay, here's another of those British soap opera cast things where they put on a big production number for the Children in Need charity telethon. But it's a different brand of soap.
Previously, the extravaganzas I've posted have all been by the show EastEnders. And they were best-known for them. But there's another wildly-popular and long-running soap opera in England, Coronation Street. And after a while, they decided that they had to step up and do a full-cast big production of their own for Children in Need.
And they came up with this homage to the musical Oliver! It's a lot of fun, even if outside of the level of expertise of some of the cast. But that's some of the fun. There's also a clear homage to the "Consider Yourself" number from the Oscar-winning movie.
I'm not completely sure when this was done, but I believe it was 2008.
