A few months back, I wrote about Joel Grey's 1968 Tony-winning performance as George M. Cohan, in the musical, George M!" and included a video here of him recreating the role for the 1974 Tony Awards.
Well, to continue our Fourth of July Holiday Weekend festivities, here he is again, 18 years after the original production performing an even more extensive, six-minute medley from George M! .for the Statue of Liberty Centennial, What I like about this version is not only how impressive he is that many years later, but that it includes several songs other than Cohan's Big Three, including some lesser-known material.
(The video shows 13 minutes. That's because it follows with a medley of American songs, with the Boston Esplanade orchestra conducted by John Williams.)
