"I said, 'We’ve just launched 59 missiles heading to Iraq and I wanted you to know this.’ And he was eating his cake. And he was silent"
-- Trump, on speaking to Chinese president Xi President Xi was probably silent because either 1) his mouth was still full of that beautiful chocolate cake, or 2) he was stunned into confusion because you actually launched the missiles at SYRIA. Mind you, with any other president it was the quote immediately preceding this which would have been the headline. That was when he described his experience of telling the Chinese president the monumental news that he had just bombed another country. And what stood out most about this dramatic, emotional, critically serious moment that risked putting the world at war was -- “I was sitting at the table. We had finished dinner. We’re now having dessert. And we had the most beautiful piece of chocolate cake that you’ve ever seen, and President Xi was enjoying it,” That quote alone is mouth-watering good by itself, but it's just too hard to top getting the name wrong of the country you just bombed. Thanks for reading. Today's presidency has been brought to you by Sara Lee. It's de-licious.
