California, There He Goes...

My first reaction on hearing the report that California Attorney General Xavier Becerra would be nominated at Secretary of Health and Human Services was disappointment -- because I like him as Attorney General here. He's been excellent. But then I realized his excellence has most notably been for fighting Trump, suing him (over 20 times, I believe) and winning. And after January 20, that won't be part of the Attorney General's job.

By the way, this means that two California Attorneys General will be with Joe Biden on his executive team.

Also worth noting -- Becerra being named to Biden's cabinet would therefore, I assume, take him out of the running of being appointed senator to fill Kamala Harris's seat.  He had been a strong contender.
