"We were very prepared. The only thing we weren't prepared for was -- the media. The media has not treated it fairly."
-- Trump today, asked why the country wasn't prepared with testing since, as he said the other day, he knew long ago this would become a pandemic. (Despite, it must be added, calling it "Fake news" and a "hoax.")
So, okay, purely for the sake of argument, let's say that Trump is right, let's say that in fact "The Media" is not treating his incompetence fairly. That they've been incredibly unfair to his incompetent handling of the heath crisis. But -- well, here's the thing: for three years he's been complaining about the "The Media." Complaining about how "The Media" is fake, fake news, fake and totally unfair to him, always, and is the enemy. The enemy! His blistering attack on "The Media" has been unrelenting, one of his major complaints on a regular basis. We know that, we understand it, we accept it, even though it's not normal. But that's Trump, we get it. So, how on earth could he NOT be prepared for them??!!
