Bad Karma

It's extremely difficult to look at a very serious, tragic incident and still think of karma and utter hypocrisy.  But it is also difficult to avoid that when seeing the situation at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq, where protesters swarmed the property and a U.S. civilian was killed.

At another time, the Republican Party was so "outraged" over the tragedy in Benghazi that they held eight House hearings over it, and had Secretary of State Hillary Clinton come in to testify for 11 hours!!  (After which, they released a report that said no blame could be placed on her, and that they learned nothing new.)  Even worse though is that for the last three years, Trump has continued to rile up his crowds over this and "emails," leading to regular chants of "Lock her up!  Lock her up!  Lock her up!!!!"

And now, there we have almost a near-identical replay of the same thing, the only difference being that Trump is now in charge.  Actually, there's another difference -- Trump's actions in the Middle East have played a part in helping destabilizing the area even more.  And also that the protesters were apparently trained by Iran, after we ended our nuclear treaty with them.

And we're not even touching on North Korea announcing that they're going to start ignoring agreements they made with Trump over nuclear development -- after we stopped military exercises in the waters there.  And after Trump gave Kim what he seems to have most-wanted: a recognized position on the world stage.  Gee, who would have imagined that the Great Negotiator would have been tricked by Kim Jong Un?

For that matter, who would have imagined that when the Great Negotiator withdrew from our treaty it would backfire on us?

Yet another difference in all this.  Trump has trampled relationships with other of our allies who would otherwise by there supporting us.  And has undermined relationships with our own intelligence services who normally would have been there to help avoid all this.

Then again, Trump is the guy who said that "I alone can fix it."  We now have the chance to see him prove that he can't.
