Over the past few weeks, I've posted a bunch of videos from Jerry Herman's two most-famous shows. Several from a revival of Mame that starred the original actress Angela Lansbury. And also quite a few of Hello, Dolly! that starred Carol Channing, along with other actresses who played the role. And then had a 25-minute video of a major tribute to Jerry Herman that included Channing and many others. This may be my favorite of them all. (And to be honest it's one of the reasons I included all the previous videos, because halfway through, I knew they would lead to this. So, I wanted to be sure to built the moment properly.) I don't want to say too much about it. But that's not a big problem since I don't know too much about it. I know it's from an event in Los Angeles called S.T.A.G.E. LA on April 6, 2013. And that's about all I know for certain. From the title it appears to be another tribute to Jerry Herman, but I haven't been able to find out any more or if that's even correct. The poster for it (that you'll see on the video) says that the night was called "Broadway My Way." It took place at the Saban Theatre in Beverly Hills only six years ago. And why I didn't know about it when it took place is beyond me. It's slightly edited, which I wish they hadn't done. But what's left is an absolute gem and wonderfully done.
