A Bit of Ella

I don't think I play Ella Fitzgerald enough -- in fairness, I don't think anyone plays Ella Fitzgerald enough, outside of there being a 24-hour Ella Fitzgerald channel somewhere.  This comes from her classic Rodgers & Hart Songbook album, and it's one of my favorite Rodgers & Hart songs, with Lorenz Hart lyrics that are among the most clever ever written, with wonderful triple-rhymes, inner rhymes, and laugh-out-loud jokes.  But all that's the song -- and the point here is the singer.  This is just a smooth, elegant, hilarious performance of a song that is anything but sweet, coming from the show, A Connecticut Yankee, based on Mark Twain's novel. sung by the character, Morgan Le Fey.  Here's "To Keep My Love Alive."
