Yes, honest, this was a real tweet from Trump yesterday about 16-year-old Greta Thunberg, who the day before had been named by Time Magazine as their Person of the Year.
A few things, but it all leads to something else that it really wonderful. Keep in mind three things -- 1) It was Trump's own wife who started her vaunted "#BeBest" campaign against bullying, and here is a 73 year-old-president bullying a 16-year-old child. 2) The 16-year-old child was just named Time Magazine's Person of the Year. Not the president. And he's the one whining. 3) This tweet is pathetic on SO many levels. But without going into them all, the starting point is that it's not even responding to Greta Thunberg or even to ANYTHING she herself did, but simply someone else who was merely congratulating her on being named as TIME's Person of the Year. And that was enough to set him off. And this is the person who Republican acolytes and elected Republican officials in Congress have chosen to knowingly walk over the edge for! But here's the best thing. We've seen Greta Thunberg respond to Trump on his Twitter account, and they've been hilarious and brilliant, but this may be her best. She is smart and determined and a gem at social media. There are two rules to learn here. The first is that if you're 73-years-old, don't get into a Twitter war with a 16-year-old. And the second is don't get in a war, period, with Greta Thunbeg. Here is her new, updated Twitter page --
