The Gang That Couldn’t Tweet Straight

5/4/2026

There were some other things I was planning to write about over the weekend for this morning.  Far more substantive than what I decided to do.  But when I saw this tweet and video on Saturday – as hollow as it is as a “story” – I realized it has a much greater meaning in a bigger picture and deserved to be written about.  Well…that and I’m just flabbergasted by it so much that my typing fingers wouldn’t let me write about anything other than this today.

This just absolutely boggles me.  Not the video – it’s infantile and pathetic and makes Trump look delusional, desperate, and look almost literally like a 3-year-old whining (I’m not exaggerating) – but rather that the video was actually posted by…The White House!!

Honest.

Indeed, its very thinness is specifically what points to the trouble Trump and the MAGOP are in, and supports what I’ve long written that things won’t get better for them because he is surrounded by unqualified incompetents who are only in their jobs to say “Yes” to Trump and keep telling him that whatever he does is great.

Before I get to what the tweet and video are, I’ll just note the response from a friend who I sent a link to it, but without saying what it was.  Just that it related to Trump and his Iran War.  He wrote back, in full –

“What the hell?????!!!!!!!!!  Are they all crazy there?  Not one single sane person who could stop this?”

That expresses it perfectly.  And yet I think it deserves much more for what it represents beyond the video and tweet themselves.

The video is so mind-numbingly, inexplicably terrible – and this is not hyperbole (witness my friend’s reaction)– that’s there’s no reason to post it, or inflict it on anyone here.  But that’s not just because it’s so bad (and bad for what it is and also for how poorly it’s made), but also because…there is truly, and I mean this in every literal sense, no reason.  The video is – and again, I am not exaggerating – a one-hour loop of Trump saying “Winning!!” over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again…and again and again and again.  The same one-second clip – repeated for an hour!

Really.

They didn’t even bother to find 30 different clips of Trump saying, “Winning!” and edit them together and repeat that for an hour.  No, they just took one clip and chose knowingly to let it repeat for 60 minutes.

I’m just stunned that this ludicrous video was literally posted by the White House! Americans disapprove of Trump's war 64-34%. They know we’re not winning.  They know the Strait of Hormuz is closed.  They know we didn’t destroy Iran’s nuclear material, which was the point (or one of the many, uncertain points) of Trump starting the war.  They know that the price of gas has skyrocketed.  Americans know this.  And the polls show that Americans know this, by 64-34%.  So, a video of Trump shouting, "Winning, winning, winning, winning, winning...!!!!" comes across like a petulant 3-year-old crying "I won't, I won’t, I won’t, I won'!t!"

And it’s even worse than that!  And yes, that’s possible.  That’s because the brilliant minds at the White House compounded this whiney, cranky, foot-stomping video of Trump repeating “Wining, winning, winning, winning…!” by writing above the video the text, "Can't stop, won't stop."

Yes, really.

If you didn’t get the point before that Trump was delusional, out of control, desperate, and infantile, the crackerjack White House team plastered it on their forehead.

I noted all this on social media in response to the tweet.  To which I ended by saying, “Keep it up!

When I first saw the video, I thought it was a great, snarky posting by someone ridiculing Trump.  Then I looked up and saw…it’s from The White House!!!  I could NOT believe that.  But…it is.

I had two immediate reactions:  What in the world were they thinking??!  And – did they not remember Charlie Sheen?!!!

What were they thinking????!!

(And yes, I’m sure there are a lot of answers to that question.  But I mean “…in a rational world.  In a political world.  In a world where you know the Mid-Term elections are just months away.  In a world where posting this video helps you.  In a world where posting several different clips of Trump saying “Winning” for 30-seconds instead of the same one-second clip over and over and over for an hour was an option.)

Again, it’s not the completely terrible video of Trump that caused my reaction.  We’ve seen Trump childish and shouting for many years.  It’s that the White House posted this.  It’s that for some reason they actually think the video is good.  (Never mind that it’s bizarrely made.)  And for some reason added their comment to compound the problem. That all just transcends nuts.  And beyond political malpractice.

Here though is a screen shot of the tweet.  And again, you’re not missing much without the video, since it’s just Trump saying one word, relentlessly.  For an hour.  You can see the clock timer at the bottom.  I was not lying!

Picture

The American public already hates the Iran War by64-34%.   And for reasons know to only themselves, the White House literally thought this was a good and a great thing to post.  And to comment on it as they do.  And it can’t be the typical reason, “Trump wanted this, so they did it.”  It’s improbable that Trump said, “I want a video posted of me saying, ‘Winning’ over and over for an house using the same one-second clip.  (Not that I don’t think Trump’s dementia is such that I don’t think he’d say that if he thought of it.  I just don’t think even he would think of suggesting that.)  So, what on earth is his White House team thinking???!

And ultimately, that’s the point in writing this today.  One of the many reasons I wrote last November that I thought Democrats would pick up 30-40 House seats in the Mid-Terms (which I still do, even with gerrymandering expanding, more on that another time) is because the terrible situation Trump finds himself in will not get better – because he’s surrounded by unqualified incompetents who have only been hired to say “Yes” to him and pander to his malignant narcissism, and because he has dementia which is degenerative.

And this White House tweet and video is so inexplicably, incompetently awful that it confirms the point.  When those surrounding Trump take a task this simple and basic and do it so horrifically counterproductive damaging, how can one imagine they’ll do the big, convoluted, difficult things well?!

As I’ve said, when you are popular in the polls and make a mistake, people generally forgive you.  But when you are unpopular, and only have a dismal 34% approval and make a mistake and look infantile and petulant and delusional, it only serves to reaffirm to people why they hate you.

But as always, this isn't just about Trump, because the public know who he is.  (As his 34% approval shows.)  Nor is it about his White House team, since we know who they are, as well.  This is about the MAGOPs in Congress, who enable it all and keep supporting Trump in full, as they see the Mid-Term elections sucking them down the drain.  This is who the MAGOP in Congress have chosen to follow over the cliff.  And unlike lemmings, they know what they're doing because they can see the actions and incompetence and dementia which is degenerative and read the polls.

If anyone turns out to be interested in seeing the video, as a public service, this is a link to it here.  I will only add a reminder that you can keep the sound muted.  Or mute the sound after five seconds.  Because it doesn’t change.

Or, you can just shut it off and escape before agony sets in.
