The other day, I posted a funny video that Second City did in conjunction with the Chicago Lyric Opera in honor of the CLO's production this season of The Sound of Music. So -- how's about we have a Mystery Guest segment from What's My Line? with the two fellows who's new show, The Sound of Music, had recently opened on Broadway -- Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II.
This was their second appearance on the show. But I thought this one more worthy of posting since it probably marks one of Oscar Hammerstein's last public appearances. I wouldn't be surprised if it was his last. The air date of the broadcast was November 29, 1959, and he passed away nine months later.
Worth noting is that one of the guest panelists is referenced as "Miss Goddard." For movie fans of classic Hollywood, that would be Paulette Goddard.
