More Ben's Birthday
Continuing our celebration of Benjamin Franklin's 313th birthday, here are two more songs in the goof fellow's honor.
The first, not shockingly, is from the movie version of the musical 1776, with a score by Sherman Edwards. This is "The Egg" about the birth of the new country, with Howard DaSilva as Franklin, and William Daniels and Ken Howard as John Adams and Thomas Jefferson. All from the original Broadway cast (which was the first show I ever saw there -- a good way to start...)
And then...well, okay, how in the world can we not honor Benjamin Franklin without "Let's Go Fly a Kite" from Mary Poppins, by the Sherman Brothers..
