Usually when musical guests appeared on Sesame Street, they'd perform just one little song in a two-shot with a Muppet and that was it. Back in 1973, though, that wasn't enough and so they did a TV special with Julie Andrews. (I believe Perry Como may have been in it, as well.) But most notably, it included a series of numbers from Broadway musicals (none of which she had done on stage), and all with wonderful Muppet production.
As a result, what we're treated to is "Julie Andrews in musicals she would have been great in on Broadway, but never performed on stage." As in this case, her playing 'Anna' from The King and I, singing "Shall We Dance?" with -- Mr. Snufalufagus.
(She did record a studio cast album of the show with Ben Kingsley as The King. And it's very good. Though it's just audio, of course, and he's no Mr. Snuffaluffigus...)
