Last week, I posted a couple of unexpected actors giving performances in the West End as 'Fagin' in Oliver! In some ways (Rowan Atkinson here and Barry Humphries here), this is the least unexpected, but also a bit so since most people don't think of him in this role on stage, but in the movie for which he got an Oscar nomination as Best Actor. But in 1985, Ron Moody recreated his role as 'Fagin' that he originated in 1960 in London with a performance of "Reviewing the Situation" at the Royal Variety production. It's wonderful, though alas the video cuts off when the applause would otherwise start. So, you'll just have to imagine the cheering on your own...
